A visit to the Lexington Children's Explorium

Today we visited the Lexington Children's Explorium.  The Explorium is a fantastic stop for kids of all ages.  Samuel tried his hand at flying a fighter jet, riding horses, spelunking, walking on the moon and more.  Mommy and Daddy were well entertained too.  Andrea felt at home in the healthcare area and tried to weigh Alexis along with the plastic babies (unfortunately the scale was broken) while Samuel gave the babies immunizations.  Adam was at home in the "plastic block room" (I refrained from calling them Legos® but that's what they looked like).  Daddy and Samuel built a house complete with window, roof, chimney, and a closing door - all out of "plastic blocks" (see I didn't say "Lego®").

There were interactive activities for a broad age spectrum of kids.  It was great!  Many of the exploration areas had costumes that a child could wear for that area.  The Doctor's station had lab coats, even blue tissue hair and foot coverings.  The tack room had every thing a jockey would wear for the big race and the food center (grocery store) had grocer aprons.

We all had a popp'in good time in the "bubble room".  Samuel tried to stand inside a bubble.  The bubble tubes were really Treky.

Samuel was thrilled to find several dinosaurs.  All in all it was a great way to spend an afternoon with the family.
